OPPO is latest Smartphone maker to join the 'Make in India' initiative, announced by P.M. Modi to kickstart Smartphone manufacturing in India.
OPPO has announced that it will invest Rs. 100 Crore to Start its own manufacturing assembly in India by August, 2016.

OPPO Global VP and President of OPPO India, Sky Li said;

“We have long term plan for India, We will invest Rs. 100 crore to kickstart our mobile manufacturing unit by August this year. He further explained that OPPO has already started its mobile handset production in India at the Foxconn’s plant.  He said that the company is looking at producing 10 million handset units per year in India at its own plant and continue its relationship with Foxconn as well. The company had announced last year in May that it is planning to setup an assembly plant in the country.”

Just yesterday the company launched two new smartphones in India the OPPO F1 and F1 plus.
Micromax, Motorola, Asus, Sony, Vivo, LG and Lenovo have also announced their plans for manufacturing smartphones in India


Along with F1, OPPO has unveiled the OPPO F1 Plus smartphone in India. It sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Just like OPPO F1, this one also has Hybrid dual SIM support. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, coupled with 4GB RAM & 32GB internal storage that can be furher expanded up to 128GB with microSD card.

It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and LED, front camera information has not been disclosed yet. It comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity options.

As per Sky Li, Oppo Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, the new series is said to "inherit the excellent camera performance and exquisite design tradition."

The OPPO F1 Plus comes in and is priced at Rs. 26,990. The company says that the device will go on sale sometime in April, this year.


OPPO has recently launched the F1 smartphone at an event in Mumbai, India. It is a sefie-centric smartphone by the Company, as it packs a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

It sports a 5-inch (1280*720 pixels) HD display (294 ppi) with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa Core processor clocked with Adrenio 405 GPU, paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB with microSD and runs on Android 5,1 Lollipop with Color OS 2.1 on top of it.

It has Hybrid Dual SIM slots  (nano+micro/ microSD) with 4G LTE support. It has a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), LED flash and a 8MP front-facing camera. The camera app comes with some nice software features such as Beautify 3.0 and option to use the screen as a flash light (by increasing screen brightness) to capture better images in low light conditions.

Other Connectivity options includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. This handset gets power from a 2500 mAh battery.

The OPPO F1 comes in Golden and Rose Gold colors and will be available in 8 cities in India from February priced at Rs. 15,990.

OPPO has recently announced  its camera centric smartphone the, OPPO F1 that will be officially launched in India  on 28th January.  The highlight of this smartphone is the 8-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture,  Beautify 3.0, and option to use screen as a flash light to capture good quality images in low light conditions.

This handset runs on Color OS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has Hybrid dual-SIM slot with 4G LTE support,  3G, Wi-Fi,  Bluetooth 4.1,  GPS and a 2500 mAh battery.

The OPPO F1 is announced in Vietnam and  comes in Golden Color, is priced at 6,490,000 Vietnamese Dongs ($290) and is now available for Pre-orders. It will ship starting from January 21st in Vietnam and will be launched in India on January 28th.
