Freedom 251 is a Scam? If it’s not, then it is too good…

Ringing Bells, an Indian smartphone manufacturer based in Noida launched the Freedom 251, which is being called the World’s cheapest smartphone is being offered by the company at dirt-cheap price of Rs. 251. The booking started yesterday and as per the company, the website received 6 Lac hits per second.

Everyone is right now ignited with the news of Freedom 251 and its price, as many peoples are attempting to book the smartphone. We tried to analyze the truth logic behind Freedom 251 and try to know whether it is a scam or the company is right and not making all the peoples fool!
At the launch event the sample unit of Freedom 251 was reviewed by Hindustan Times, and they Found that it’s a rebranded unit of Adcom Ikon 4 that was launched 2 years Ago by Adcom, a Delhi based gadgets and electronic products importer. The Adcom logo was hidden by a whitener, No genuine company shall do that…

Even according to Indian Cellular Association (ICA)  no company can sell such a smartphone below Rs. 2700, even after all discount factors. “For your kind information, the bill of material value for a product like this when sourced from the cheapest supply chain costs approximately Rs. 2700 (40 $)”, said ICA President.

Let's take a look at the specs of this smartphone, it has a 4-inch display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor and 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage; if you will only buy a touch display for such a smartphone  it will cost more than 251 Ruppes, So it is clear that the individual cost of each component will be far more than Rs. 251. Now the company itself is not officially approved  by Indian Government, the company is not listed under Bureau of Indian standards (BIS), which means that they are not certified to sell any products in India. That is a major red alert which indicates that the company is scam.

Now. if Ringing Bells receives 1 Crore orders for the Freedom 251 then they make 251 Crore Rupees and if it is a scam and none of the buyers get it then it is very likely that many peoples will not even ask for a refund as it is just a matter of Rs. 251.

Even the company’s website is not well maintained as Freedom is taking even half orders as you can see above in the image.
Only time will tell about the truth, the company is a scam? Or they are right, which would be revealed on June 30th, when Ringing Bells will deliver the first batch of the Freedom 251 handsets.
