Blackberry 10 is not going away, Blackberry to launch a number of Android devices this year

Blackberry CEO John Chen, has confirmed that Blackberry is not quiting Blackberry 10 and they will continue to offer software updates for Blackberry 10 smartphones, but he does not mentioned about any Blackberry 10 devices to be released this year. John Chen said that Blackberry will release a couple of Android devices this year.

He said about upcoming Blackberry 10 software updates:

"Consumer and enterprise fans of our workhorse BlackBerry 10 smartphones such as Passport, Classic and others can look forward to many security and privacy enhancements in 2016. The coming version 10.3.3 will be certified for NIAP compliance, meaning it will have passed the strictest government-grade security tests, enabling us to further support our government and regulated customers who use BlackBerry 10 devices and demand the highest levels of security. We are also planning a version 10.3.4 for later this year with even more security improvements."


He also said that Blackberry is working on a new Android-based phone, but he is not ready to share details about this phone yet. This could be Android Vienna which was was rumored back.
